Do You Like to Garden?
Our 2025 Graduates
Completion of the Master Gardener class is the first step to joining a welcoming community of like-minded folks who appreciate the many aspects of horticulture and wish to share their enthusiasm. Experts from throughout the Virginia Cooperative Extension service and experienced professionals from the local community will conduct the training. Students will learn to address the opportunities and requirements for horticulture that are uniquely applicable to the Fluvanna area.
After completing the course, trainees become Master Gardener Interns to complete 50 hours of volunteer service in the projects of Fluvanna Master Gardeners, which include help desks, school, library, and community programs, and demonstration gardens. With the completion of these 50 hours, they receive the nationally recognized designation of Master Gardener.
A fee of $200 covers class related costs, including the textbook and a required criminal background screening.
Financial assistance is available.
The course will start in mid-January, with Thursday evening sessions on Zoom and Saturday morning workshops. Graduation will be mid-May.
