Children's Project

 

Demo Garden

The demo garden will highlight the natural heritage of Fluvanna County. The initial emphasis will be on establishing 19th century kitchen and ornamental gardens at the Haden house. We would also like to begin identifying and characterizing interesting and native plants along the Heritage Trail on this property.

Holland Page House

Master Gardeners will help educate the 3rd graders from Central Elementary in the "kitchen gardening" techniques of the 19th C. at a restored farm house. The house is open to the public and the garden will be developed and on display in the future.

Senior Garden

In Completion of the Master Gardening Course in 1998, the Fluvanna Master Gardeners decided to provide a garden facility to the senior residents of Fluvanna.  The Fork Union Parks and Recreation approved the concept and suggested the garden be constructed behind the Parks and Recreation Center.
