About Session Presenter: Cathryn Kloetzli has been involved in horticulture for the last 17 years. She started off working in commercial greenhouses for 7 years – growing flowers and vegetables – and then went back to school to earn her master’s degree in agribusiness management. She has worked with Home + Commercial Horticulture and Master Gardeners with Cooperative Extension in North Carolina and now, here in Virginia, for the last 4 years. Before arriving to Virginia, she did her Peace Corps service in West Africa and still does brief, yearly volunteer trips overseas to assist greenhouse growers in improving their production practices. Her current work with VCE centers around commercial horticulture production, but she also assists the Master Gardeners in bringing research based information out into the local communities to raise awareness and promote sound environmental practices.
