NEWSRELEASE – 2004Flowers, Flowers, Flowers Fluvanna Master Gardeners present the 2nd annual “Flowers, Flowers, Flowers” Seminar and Plant Sale, open to the public, on April 17, 2004 from 8:30am to 3:30pm at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Social Room. This year’s theme is “Landscaping”. The keynote speaker is Michael McConkey of Edible Landscaping who has spent many years growing, grafting and testing hundreds of edible varieties for home landscaping. Additional speakers include Scott Price of Snow’s Garden & Landscape Center with a presentation on basic landscape design; Rachel Anderson from Palestine Farm speaking on daylilies and companion plants; and Keith Folsom of Springdale Water Gardens, a nationally recognized speaker promoting the water garden industry. Additionally, there will be a plant sale throughout the day, door prizes, and a gift for all attendees. The registration fee is $25.00. Lunch is included with seminar pre-payment. Food is available nearby for walk-ins. No refunds unless the seminar is cancelled. The seminar is limited to 80 participants, and has been approved for six hours of continuing education credit for Master Gardeners. Directions to Beaver Dam Baptist Church: From the West: I-64, Exit 129 (Keswick) and bear right onto Rt. 616, at stop light turn left onto Rt. 250 East and go 2.7 miles. The church is on the right. From the East: I-64, Exit 136, turn left onto Rt.15 South. At the first stop light turn right onto Rt. 250 West and go 4.1 miles. The church is on the left. The church is handicap-accessible. |
